Surfing Africa
"WE WILL DRIVE TWO HILUXES FROM CARRICKFERGUS TO CAPE TOWN"
I overheard the word 'surf' one day. Immediately I was eavesdropping, hoping to find another few willing surf buddies. It turns out that the 'surf' referred to wasn't anything to do with salty water, but it applied to a mighty Toyota 4x4 which is a close brother of the indestructible Hilux Pickup.
The Mission
Turns out Andy and Louise are planning an Epic Journey from their
home in Carrickfergus, through Europe, down the East Coast of Africa,
and ending up in Cape Town. You can see the extent of their journey via a nice little google map they have created.
One Hilux will be driven by Andy and Louise, while the other is a 'guest' vehicle, being driven by friends and family over various legs of the trip.
They have extensively modified the two wagons to meet their needs; check out this classy roof tent!
Epic's Involvement
Epic is supporting the team by helping to buy a high-lift jack, which we hope won't be needed. (too much)...
